Any noise heard coming from your boiler, such as the sound of bubbling water, can be due to several causes. If your boiler has worked without any problems and the all of a sudden started to make a funny noise, then it could be due to air that has found its way into your boiler system. This noise could have been generated by the forming of steam which condenses in the area of the air that’s trapped.

A Harrow Plumber can find airlocks in pipework. The only real remedial action, apart from buying yourself a new boiler, (which of course would be very expensive) is to treat the system with something called a descaling solution. A power flush can be carried out but this should really be done by a professional plumber like a Harrow Plumber . If you decide to go down the cleaning solution route, then, it will depend on the material that your boiler is made from, like, copper or steel or even aluminium as to which one to use. You should be aware that these agents and solutions can by their usage alone, expose faults like corrosion which produce leaks in the pipes purely by removing the sludge and so it is a double edged sword. It is entirely possible that the problem of the noise from the boiler may be down to impingement of the flame directly onto the heat exchanger within the boiler, which can cause hotspots where steam forms and collapses. The services of a professional heating engineer are needed to make the necessary flame adjustments and make some deeper investigations into the problem.

The noise from the boiler, however, may not be the result of trapped air but could be due to causing local This requires
